Emails sent through the member website can be sent to individual members or access groups and are stored on the website. Below are tips for sending emails.
- There is limited formatting options in the email tool. Do not add emoji's in the body of an email. The system will truncate any words that follow the emoji.
- If you copy and paste from an outside source that has a lot of specific formatting that our website does not support, the message could get truncated. It is best to type the body of the email directly into the email tool and do not use emojis. If you need to have more 'fancy' formatting or emoji's then it is best to use any external source to create the email.
- Members can view 'Sent' and 'Received' emails from the system in the Email Tool or these sections in their profile.
- Members should periodically check their received Email section to insure all emails are being received in their inboxes.
- If sent emails are not in their provider's inbox, this indicates an issue with the email provider
- Check spam/trash for email
- White list the @nclonline.com domain by adding an email filter to “never mark as spam” any email coming from our nclonline.org domain
- Check filter settings verifying any other filters are not blocking emails.
Bounced Email Tool
- Bounced Email Tool will produce a report explaining why emails for members are bouncing.
- Issues in the report must be resolved before bounce is 'Cleared' so bounces to not reoccur.
Calendar Email Configuration
- A calendar can be configured to send emails automatically in Registration Tool Manager in the Calendar Configuration (not event setup)
- The 'From Email' field can only have one email in it and it should be donotreply@nclonline.org so members can whitelist this email and they will not be bounced by email providers.
- The 'From Name' field should be 'NCL Chapter Name' and cannot have any symbols in it (-.,) or the emails could bounce and members will not receive them in their inboxes.
- The 'Email Subject' field should not have any symbols in it (-.,) or the emails could bounce and members will not receive them in their inboxes.
